WHAT IS THE RECONNECTION VISION

The Reconnection Vision (RV) is the Yukon First Nation’s (YFN) unified approach to climate action. Developed by 13 Yukon First Nation youth from 2021-2023, the RV is a societal transformation guide and toolkit that sees all people living as whole people and in good relation with ourselves, each other and the Land. Our growing Reconnection Vision Collective is actively implementing the RV, by striving to be whole people today. We are focused on nurturing and evaluating our collective well-being, establishing a sustainable governance structure, sharing the RV and our activity broadly, and supporting Yukon youth and our YFN self-governments.

We are storytellers, artists, writers, land guardians, hunters, parents, siblings, cousins, activists, students, language revitalizers, entrepreneurs and leaders. As the current voices of the Reconnection Vision, our work takes many forms. Our work is deeply informed by our natural environment, we work in collaboration with our seasons, and we work in alignment with the phases of the moon. Collectively, we aim to lead by example, creating labour structures that reconnect us to each other and the Land.
